Shabby Road, an Evening of Stinging Political Satire

The Kane County Bar Association’s Shabby Road, Saturday April 12 at ECC’s Blizzard Theatre, Offers an Evening of Hilarity With Song Parodies Ripped Straight From the Headlines

ST. CHARLES, Illinois (April 1, 2014) -  All the politicians you love to hate will be satirized at the Kane County Bar Association’s production of Shabby Road, Pols and Lies on the Campaign Trail (A Nukalar Extravagabanza), Saturday, April 12 at Elgin Community College’s Blizzard Theatre. Tickets are $40-$50 and include a 6 pm reception with hors d’oeuvres and cocktails. The show begins at 7:30 pm. Shabby Road contains screwball skits and irreverent song parodies to Beatles tunes like The Fool on the Hill, Polythene Pam and Mean Mr. Mustard, and to songs by Afroman, Mariah Carey, Johnny Cash, Elvis Costello, The Steve Miller Band, The Police, The Who, and many more! DisBard, and Loren Golden on piano, appear as the Shabby Road band.  

The Shabby Road cast and crew includes The Honorable David Akemann, Peter Akemann, Randy Baudini, Christine Bayer, Richard Bingham, Michael Blake, The Honorable F. Keith Brown, Sandra Petras Bruckner, Jennifer Burdette, The Honorable Kevin Busch, Loren Golden, The Honorable Patricia Piper Golden, Teresa Haish, Diane Kenney Handler, Marissa Hanson, Carmel Huseman, Carolyn Jansons, Bonnie Lee Kunkel, Dan O'Brien, Danelle Oilschlager, Timothy O'Neil, Dan Parsons, Marie Pedersen, Emily Rapp, Leslie Robbins, Jennifer Sellers, Peter Storm, James Tabor, Colleen Thomas, Dorothy Voigt, Douglas Warlick, Kay Weiler, and Michael Wong.

The show is directed by Bernie Weiler and produced by Dorothy Voigt. Richard Bingham is music director and Timothy O’Neil is Shabby Road’s vocal director.

 The Kane County Bar Association provides educational, social and professional opportunities for attorneys in the 16th Judicial Circuit. Currently, there are about 1100 KCBA members.
