Notice of Vacancy Felony Court Appointed Counsel

In order to meet the constitutional right of indigent defendants to legal representation; you are hereby notified of the Court's desire to contract with private attorneys to provide legal assistance in matters where the court determines the Public Defender has a conflict of interest.

Pursuant to Kane County Resolution 12-67 the Chief Judge is authorized to appoint and contract with private attorneys to conduct trial, post decree and appellate work on behalf of indigents in felony cases in Kane County.

The term of employment will run from February 1, 2013 to December 31, 2013.  The contractual amount of the full time positions is $2,350.00 per month plus $2,250 for trial expenses.  The contractual payment of part time positions will be commensurate with the time involved in the courts.  This position is in addition to the existing Court Appointed Counsel.
