Circuit Judges Select Finalists for Associate Judge

The Circuit Judges of the Sixteenth Judicial Circuit have selected two finalists, out of a field of 32, for the position for Associate Judge. The two finalists are Salvatore LoPiccolo and Julia Yetter.

Salvatore LoPiccolo was admitted to the Bar in November of 1987. He began his legal career with the Kane County States Attorney’s Office in 1988 until he became the First Assistant to the elected States Attorney in Boone County, Illinois. He returned to the Kane County States Attorney’s Office in 2013 where he still practices today. LoPiccolo is a graduate of St. Edwards High School in Elgin. He received his Bachelor’s Degree and his Law Degree from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. LoPiccolo served as a Captain in the Field Artillery, with the U.S. Army from 1982 until 1987.

Julia Yetter was admitted to the Bar in November of 1996. She began her legal career working in the Cook County Public Guardian’s Office in Chicago. She then worked as an Associate in the Law Offices of Marc Wolf and Associates in Woodridge before moving to the DuPage County Public Defender’s Office in October of 2000. In 2007 she began working as an Assistant in the Kane County Public Defender’s Office in July of 2007 where she still practices today.

The final vote is expected to occur during the last week of August.
