Shabby Road, Pols and Lies on the Campaign Trail (A Nukalar Extravagabanza) is a musical review of incisive and witty political satire combined with bawdy humor and screwball antics reminiscent of “Animal House.” One thing Shabby Road will not be is politically correct. The event, sponsored by The Kane County Bar Association (KCBA), features spoof appearances by “Patty and Rob Blagojevich,” “Chris Christie,” “Ted Cruz,” “Sarah Palin,” “Justin Bieber,” and more! Tickets include a 6 pm reception with hors d’oeuvres and cocktails. The show begins at 7:30 pm.
Tickets for Shabby Road at ECC Blizzard Theater start at $40 for reserved seats; $50 for premium reserved seats. Box seat packages are also available. “Stockade” or wing box seats are $1000 and include ten (10) box seats, banner, and advertising on-stage and in the program. “Jailhouse” or opera box seats are $600 and include six (6) box seats, banner, on-stage and program advertising. For tickets, please call the Elgin Community College Box Office at 847-622-0300.
Shabby Road gives an insider’s look at the legal, judicial and legislative process and lampoons today’s politicians and celebrities. The show was written by KCBA attorneys Richard Bingham, Loren Golden, Tim O’Neill, Peter Storm and Judge Kevin Busch. In addition to writing, Dorothy Voigt produces and performs, and Bernie Weiler directs. The Shabby Road band includes Peter Storm, guitar, Richard Bingham, bass and Loren Golden on piano.
